Webmaster Resources - Quote Tooltips

It's true! The TR4DER portal already allows you to use our quote tooltips on your websites, blogs, etc.

The TR4DER portal now allows you to use our quote tooltips on any website you may have. If you have a website where you wish to put one of our quote tooltips, with quotes and a chart of stocks or indexes, or even if you have a personal blog about investments, or other things, you can freely create your tooltips here. Example:

These tooltips give you the opportunity to substitute the names of certain stocks by a link of themselves, so that when we go with the mouse over them, a quick help text with an embedded chart is created and appears, on screen, not only with the chart and quotes of that stock, but also with some information about it, the same information that we have in our portal, but shown on your own website.

Instead of something like:

«Today, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has gained several points...»

We would have something like:

«Today, the has gained several points...»

Where, if the user goes over the link with the mouse, would see something like:

To use this system in your own website, you just have to use the following code:

On the code above you just have to change the symbol of the asset, in this case the index ^DJI (from Dow Jones Industrial Average), by the symbol corresponding to the desired stock or index. The code used above would do all the work, after that the person who would use it would just need to write it by hand on that user's website or article, or to do an automatic substitution from that symbol by this script, as for example, to substitute in a text all the occurrences of ^DJI by the code which has the Dow Jones Industrial Average symbol (^DJI), or even a script which changes something between two tags in a forum, changing for example [info]^DJI[/info] by the code above.

To add this system to a forum, we just have to go to the BBCODE options of that forum, and create a new BBCODE for a tag. Lets imagine something like [info]{param}[/info], with a related code like:

This way we have this code appearing, changing the {param} between the [info] and [/info] tags, by the symbol of the assets we wish, and having the tooltip code with the data and chart of the desired asset related to that tag, and any user on that forum would be able to use those tags as if that user was on our TR4DER portal itself. The server resources consumed would be those of our server and not those of the server who would host that forum. The code shown here applies both to the VBulletin and PHPBB forums, as well as others.
